Daryl Hawkins didn't just bring his luggage to Mexico — he brought 25 years of hard-earned experience in the swimming pool industry. Now, he's running his pool cleaning service business in the Riviera Maya, fully aware that maintaining paradise is a dirty job. Keeping water crystal clear in the Caribbean heat — with its unique humidity, harsh sun, and logistical chaos — is a challenge that scares off the amateurs. But he's ready for it. Daryl is applying his decades of expertise to the "beautiful mess" of Playa del Carmen, all while documenting the absurdities of expat life in The Crackerjack Chronicles — a five-book comedy series available on Amazon. The Crackerjack brand also includes branded merchandise for the pool team and customers, because if you're going to work hard in paradise, you might as well look good doing it.
